5 NIA Members in Elkhart Art Walk May 10

Diane Overmyer, Jude Phillips, Jill Heavner, Kimberly DeNolf and Joan Spohrer will be among the artists exhibiting at Elkhart Art Walk May 10.  Enjoy live music, food and drink, meet the artists along Main Street, Elkhart from 5-8pm. While downtown, stop in to the Midwest Museum of American Art to view the NIA’s 75th anniversary exhibit. 105 works by 72 member artists are on display at the Museum through July 9.

Northern Indiana Artists celebrates the 75th anniversary of the organization with an exhibit at the Midwest Museum of American Art, 429 S. Main Street, Elkhart, IN. The exhibit, “Envisioning a Future, Remembering a Past,” will feature work by 72 NIA members, and will be on display at the Museum April 7-July 9, 2017. An awards reception will be held Sunday May 7 from 1-4pm. Throughout the exhibit period the Museum will feature NIA artists as speakers during its weekly Thursday “Noontime Talks” lecture series. A list of artists scheduled may be found in the NIA newsletter or at the Museum website. The Museum will commemorate its 38th anniversary this year. The exhibit may be viewed during Museum hours, Tuesday – Friday, 10am-4pm; Saturday and Sunday, 1-4pm.

Kari Black to Exhibit at Raclin Gallery

A collection of drawings, paintings and sculpture by Kari Black will be on exhibit at the Raclin Gallery, IUSB, March 27-April 8, 2017. An opening reception will be held Thursday, March 30 at 6:00pm. The show culminates Black’s work earning her BFA in drawing and painting, and minors in sculpture and art history. The Raclin Gallery, 2002 S. Esther Street, South Bend, is open 12-5 pm Monday through Saturday during exhibitions. Visitor parking is available in the lot on the south side of the building, off of Hildreth Street. Northern Indiana Artists will celebrate their 75th anniversary with the exhibit, “Envisioning a Future, Remembering a Past” at the Midwest Museum of American Art, 249 S. Main St., Elkhart, April 7 – July 16, 2017. An opening reception will take place Sunday, May 7, 1:00 – 4:00pm; an awards ceremony will take place at that time. The public is invited to attend.
