Dues

Northern Indiana Artists, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of contemporary creative art. NIA strives to raise the quality of work produced and the standards of the community.

NIA has been active in Michiana since 1942. Our membership is composed of area artists who have passed an independent jury process.

NIA sponsors exhibits of members’ works and holds meetings for the mutual benefit gained through discussion, lectures, inspiration, scholarships and social contacts. NIA awards scholarships to deserving and emerging artists.

NIA membership includes more than 150 regional artists at all levels of experience. An artist is required to pass an independent jury process to become an Active Member and be able to exhibit with the organization. Artists who work in two or three dimensions are eligible to join.

Throughout the year, NIA exhibits at several locations. There are also four General Meetings held on the second Sunday of the month: September, November, January, and March, with a fifth gathering of some sort in May. Each meeting provides an opportunity to socialize with fellow artists, join in art-related discussions, and to listen to presentations by an art historian and/or regional artist. The organization maintains a website at nia-art.org where events, newsletters and information on upcoming exhibitions are posted. NIA also awards scholarships to deserving and emerging artists who are under the age of eighteen.

Application Process

To apply for membership with NIA you must submit an application and payment, either on paper and check to the P.O. Box address found below or on-line through the on-line form and paypal links below. After we receive both your application and payment the Membership Chairperson with contact you regarding the next step in the jury process.

Once the application and $10 jury fee are received, the Membership Chairman will contact you with the information for the jurying process.

Dues

Continuing membership dues of $30 are payable March 1 and delinquent after March 31. A $35 late fee is applicable after March 31.

Annual Dues are $30, but if you are a new member joining between the months of September and February, your first year dues rate is $15. Please do not submit your membership dues until your jury fee has been paid and your application has been processed. Choose one of the PayPal buttons below for your first dues payment.
