NIA Brings Artist Greg LaRock Back to South Bend

NIA Plein Air workshop with Greg LarockBack by popular demand, Greg LaRock is returning to South Bend in August to present two workshops, at the Advanced Beginner and Intermediate/Advanced levels! These workshops will be held at the South Bend Museum of Art, upstairs classrooms.

Greg LaRock is a master artist and excellent teacher. His workshops are designed to help students take their paintings to the next level. He presents in oil, but students in all media are welcome and encouraged to attend. Visit his website greglarock.com


Advanced Beginner Studio Class

NIA workshop with Greg LaRockThis will be a 3-day studio workshop for the advanced beginner studying the landscape from photo references. We’ll discuss composition and how to organize the elements into successful arrangement. Construction of a painting from the ground up. Supporting focal interest. Creating depth and atmosphere The power of large masses. Color temperatures: how they relate to your values and creating the illusion of 3-D onto your 2-D surface. This workshop will include complete demos, personal instruction at the students easels, critiques and free goodies.
This is an indoor studio class from 9:30 am to 4:30 each day.

NIA workshop with Greg LaRockThis will be a 4-day studio workshop designed for the intermediate to advanced painter. We’ll cover the concepts of the beginning class, but more in depth. Plus we’ll go into other topics including: brushwork/mark-making, using your mind’s eye, and how to take a small plein air painting and enlarge it into a studio piece. We’ll also discuss what sets award-winning paintings apart from the rest. This workshop will include complete demos, personal instruction at the students easels, critiques and free goodies.
This is a studio (and possibly plein air) class from 9:30 am to 4:30 each day.
