Level of experience: Beginners with no prior painting experience to seasoned artists.

$65 per student. Maximum of 12. A light lunch will be provided.
Workshop Description: You will learn how to use oil paint along with the cold wax medium. Layer upon layer is applied, removed, scratched off or stamped on. Abstract art is about shapes, colors, proportion, symmetry, asymmetry, and surprise. Patty will show you the very basic techniques and your creative imagination will flow. This is a very intuitive style of painting allowing whatever happens to be part of the fun. You should wear clothing you don’t mind getting paint on or wear an apron or a large shirt for over your clothes.
What to bring – Two foam core boards (available at Hobby Lobby, Michaels, or United Art and Education Store). These must be cut to 16” x 20” or purchased in that size. These will be used to tape your art paper down and serve as a way to transport your finished work.
All other supplies will be provided. If you wish to bring some of your own items, they could include oil paints, brayers, palette knives, used gift cards, or anything that could make a mark or scratch.
